It seems like these days no application or device can escape integration with social media. Fortunately, for Office users, Outlook is no exception. Using Outlook social providers, you can hook up your favorite mail client to social networks like LinkedIn and Facebook. To find out how to do it, check out my article published by Que.
I’ve also been looking into creating my own social provider and Microsoft provides the APIs to do it. They also provide some good help resources. There’s the provider help on MSDN and this informative article (also on MSDN).
If you create business software, think about whether your users could benefit from seeing updates from your app in Outlook.
